In La Paz, you’ll find fantastic venues like Club Pedregal La Paz (location) and Club Deportivo San Juan (location) where you can join in on pickleball matches or sharpen your skills with lessons. 

Just outside of town to the north, Club Pedregal offers 6 Tennis Courts and 4 Pickleball Courts along with equipment rentals, and lovely outdoor spaces to relax in between your court time. A strong community of players will teach beginners the basics of the game, or private lessons are available through the club. Visit the Tennis Center for information on membership fees or drop-in rates. 

On the other end of town, in the neighbourhood of Chametla, brand new Club Deportivo San Juan boasts 12 Pickleball Courts and 3 Tennis Courts, all resurfaced in 2023, with free group lessons and unlimited open court time for members. A single-day pass is $150 pesos, or sign up for one month for $1200 or three months for $3300. Pickleball is a social activity, so you’ll make new friends while staying active!

Gyms: Workouts with all the Equipment

If indoor workouts are more your style, La Paz has some amazing gyms. Lean Muscle Gym (location) and Atenas Fitness Club (location) are top choices, offering modern facilities and friendly vibes that will keep you motivated to reach your fitness goals.

Lean Muscle Gym is run by a certified fitness trainer husband and wife team and offers multiple of each machine, so there’s no waiting around mid-circuit. The gym is spacious and clean and has a laid-back atmosphere. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 5am-10pm and Saturdays from 7am-2pm. You can become a member for $550 pesos per month, plus a one time $100 pesos registration fee, or just drop in for $100 pesos a day. 

Atenas Fitness Club, though located further away from downtown in the Santa Fe neighbourhood of La Paz, is a facility attended by professional athletes of La Paz, providing an energizing environment with professional staff. Women-only hours are every day from 6:30am-12:30pm, then the gym is open to all from 4pm-10pm. The membership is a very reasonable $350 pesos per month, plus the one-time $100 pesos inscription fee. 

Yoga: Harmony for Body and Mind

For a dose of tranquility and inner balance, delve into La Paz’s yoga scene. With numerous studios and wellness centers offering classes for all levels, from gentle Hatha yoga to dynamic Vinyasa flows, you’ll find your Zen in no time. Check out Body Working Fitness & Health (location) for a low-pressure heart-centered gym experience or Yoghar Estudio (location) for sunset yoga sessions with breathtaking views of La Paz bay. 

Body Working Fitness & Health offers Zumba, spinning, yoga, and Pilates, to a largely female clientele in a repurposed warehouse space that is rustic but clean. The gym promotes body positivity, with instructors openly discussing body mechanics without shame. Classes may not always start or end precisely on time, but the inclusive environment makes everyone feel welcome, even if arriving late. Membership options vary, with discounts for monthly commitments and a Whatsapp group for class notifications and positive messages from fellow members.

Yoghar Estudio runs their yoga practices, as well as various workshops, ceremonies, and courses in a magnificent, bright, open space, sometimes even right out in the garden and sometimes to live music! Instructors are certified in multiple disciplines and teach to each individual in the room. Clients who find this studio swear they’ll never go anywhere else.

Outdoor Biking/Running: Explore Scenic Routes
